Core Capabilities
My work sits at the intersection of Drupal technical leadership, hands-on engineering, platform modernization, and practical delivery. I am most effective in roles that need someone who can understand a complex Drupal system quickly, set a maintainable technical direction, stay close to the code, and help other developers move with more confidence.
Drupal Engineering Leadership
I lead Drupal work from both the architectural and hands-on engineering sides. My recent work includes Drupal 10 and 11 development, Drupal 7 to 10 migration work, upgrade planning, custom module development, Views plugin extensions, content-driven block visibility systems, shared module architecture, and code-driven configuration. I am strongest in the LAMP stack, with deep PHP experience, strong CSS/Sass and HTML fundamentals, practical JavaScript experience, and enough full-stack range to make sound decisions across backend, frontend, data, and deployment concerns. As a lead, I focus on standards, maintainability, reviewable code, and technical choices that other developers can build on.
Team Leadership and Mentoring
I have served as a development team lead on remote Drupal teams, providing day-to-day technical direction, code review, mentoring, backlog support, and delivery guidance. I have helped junior developers grow into mid-level roles and mentored one developer into a senior role. I am comfortable acting as a practical Scrum lead when the team needs it, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, capacity discussions, ceremonies, and keeping work visible and realistic. My leadership style is hands-on: I stay close enough to the code to remove blockers, explain tradeoffs clearly, and help the team make better technical decisions.
Drupal Modernization and Platform Architecture
Much of my work has involved modernizing complex Drupal platforms without disrupting the organizations that depend on them. I have led and implemented Drupal migrations, improved deployment workflows, built reusable modules across site ecosystems, extended search with Apache Solr, integrated AWS services, developed APIs and AWS Lambda functions, and connected Drupal with DAM platforms, third-party services, payment systems, and internal business tools. I tend to focus on reusable patterns, clear configuration, and maintainable architecture that can survive changing requirements.
AI-Augmented Engineering Workflow
I use modern AI tools as part of my engineering workflow for code analysis, refactoring support, debugging, test planning, documentation, pull request review, and repository comprehension. I am comfortable using LLMs to accelerate routine work, summarize unfamiliar systems, draft technical communication, and explore implementation options while still applying senior-level judgment to security, correctness, maintainability, and fit with the existing codebase. I treat AI as a productivity layer for experienced engineering work, not a substitute for understanding the system.
